Happy Birthday, Mary

HappyBirthday

I woke up at 2:12 AM and made a mental note to look up the scripture. I felt a little giddy as it was my birthday, December 2nd or 12-02.

For some reason I kind of knew it was Luke (maybe because of the season) and not my “go to” scriptures in Psalms or Proverbs. Oh, wow! Just look at Luke 2:12!

“And this will be a sign for you:
You will find a baby wrapped in cloths,
and lying in a manger.”

I remembered Tuesday’s prayer: “I want to be Your manger this Christmas.” I also tied it to a brief teaching I heard from John Kilpatrick on the feasts and in particular, the Feast of Tabernacles. He mentioned that swaddling clothes were actually the priests’ old clothes that were wrapped tightly and used as torches.

As  I journaled, I realized there was a concert going on in my garden with birds chirping and hummingbirds soaring through the air. Thank You, Lord for the abundance in my life. YOU! I just want more of You. I want to make each hour, day, week, month, and this whole year the best it can be. I crave “abundant fullness.”
