What’s it all about, Alfie?

For some reason, my digital clock captured my attention at 9:11, 11:11, 12:02, and 5:05. I have no idea what that was about, but usually it’s a scripture. As I was getting out of bed, I heard the key verse from a song written for a movie by Burt Bacharach in 1966 about a womanizing, self-centered guy named Alfie, “What’s it all about, Alfie?”

What’s it all about, Alfie?
Is it just for the moment we live?
What’s it all about when you sort it out, Alfie?
Are we meant to take more than we give
or are we meant to be kind?
And if only fools are kind, Alfie,
then I guess it’s wise to be cruel.
And if life belongs only to the strong, Alfie,
what will you lend on an old golden rule?
As sure as I believe there’s a heaven above, Alfie,
I know there’s something much more,
something even non-believers can believe in.
I believe in love, Alfie.
Without true love we just exist, Alfie.
Until you find the love you’ve missed you’re nothing, Alfie.
When you walk let your heart lead the way
and you’ll find love any day, Alfie, Alfie.

menorah…. ah, ha! I began to put it all together. Last evening I was watching a TV program about Revelation 1:8 ““I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” When Jesus is speaking to John, He said He was “the Alpha and the Omega.” Jesus said those words in GREEK, not Hebrew or Aramaic. The Hebrew is Aleph and Tav, the first and last letters of the Hebrew alphabet. [It’s from Hebrew letters that we get the word, alphabet!]

The cool thing is that Revelation 1:8 is tied to Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” There are SEVEN Hebrew words, which is easily tied to the Hebrew menorah — the SEVEN branch lamp. The middle center lamp is used to light the other six. In Hebrew, the center word of Genesis 1:1 is actually two letters. Note! They aren’t a word! Reading from right to left, it’s Aleph, Tav! That’s JESUS!!!! Jesus is the beginning of the Hebrew alphabet and the end of the Hebrew alphabet, That is so, so, cool!

Jesus is the Alpha and Omega.
Jesus is the Beginning and the End.
Jesus is the Author and Finisher of my faith.
Jesus is the Word…. and as we see here, Jesus is the LETTER too!

NOTE: There’s a second post on my site, which has even greater revelation on Genesis 1:1. Please read!
