And Then His Heart Stopped Beating

While in worship this Sunday, during a the refrain, “Such love, Such love for us…” a song about the Cross and His gift of eternal life to us, I literally heard Jesus’ heartbeat. I was stunned when it stopped beating. It was so impactful. I believe I felt a little bit of what Father God felt to see His Son suffer and die. The Cross — His Gift! Words like mercy, compassion, love, magnificence swam through my heart and mind. It was all too much beyond human knowledge to fully understand.

I realized once again, His suffering and death on that cross was for me. It was for those I love. It was for us all and for all time.
